St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon is a fun, service learning program for schools that teaches trike and riding toy safety while helping the children of St. Jude. Since 2010, GMS has committed to participate in teaching awareness and becoming a part of a solution with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Our fundraising effort benefits their Pediatric Cancer Research Center making it possible to treat patients regardless of a family’s ability to pay. We are proud to be a part of this very worthy organization and thank you for considering in joining us!

JDRF

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is the leading organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.T1D is a lifelong disease that requires people to test their blood sugar and inject themselves with insulin several times a day. There is never a break from T1D. Funds raised support JDRF research and education initiatives that make life easier for people with T1D on the way to a cure. Our school is proud to join JDRF in its work to create a world without T1D.

Over the past 4 years, our students have participated in the JDRF Kids Walk and we have raised over $6,350 to help find a cure for those living with TID!

Food Pantry

GMS staff and families contribute annually with the Helping Hands Pantry at Atonement Lutheran Church of Wesley Chapel.  Last year we collected over 392 pounds of food which, in turn, helped supply basic food needs for over 250 families.

The needs of the Pantry are on-going  and as of the middle of December there were 819 active registered families.  However, with the help of

wonderful donors they have been able to keep up with the

demand. Thank You!

Pasco County Animal Services

GMS Kindergartners participated in collecting “loose change” donations and supplies for the Pasco County Animal Services.  Kindergarteners and school mascot, "Butterball” handed out treats to furry friends who visited during car line. After a week of collecting during car line, the children raised over $400.00 and delivered the cash donation and supplies in person on a field trip to the PCAS.  Proceeds will go towards the care of housed animals and public relations to raise awareness for  adoption and spaying/neutering services.
